Nicole Avezard
A humourous look at life, the desire to amuse
and amuse herself through different modes of expression.
Nicole AVEZARD, better known under the name of Lucienne beaujon in the duo
"The Vamps", has an original background. She obtained a Ph D in fluid mechanics in 1975. Then she chose to go into comedy ending up with the creation of the "Vamps" in 1988.
In the meantime she has a passion for painting. Her first canvas revealed an original surrealist style, full of humour. Her current creations are caricatures of people in comical situations : "The Josianes". They are jovial, dynamic and they seem to be a little naive, but they achieve the dreams they had as little girls. Through the surrealist painting of Nicole AVEZARD, we discover the freshness of a child's dreams. Fanciful, humorous and colourful, they are like brilliant sweets we enjoyed in an innocent childhood. We find in their character, the Lucienne of the "Vamps" that Nicole Avezard incarnated in the theatre. "There must be something of myself in all that", she declares. A universe of unexcepted images full of humor and color.
In between she published a book "Histoires d'ailleurs" which is a collection of incredible and surreal short stories, written in a stream of consciousness and illustrated by her first paintings.
Now living in the Loches area (South Touraine), she also gives theatre lessons and organizes creativity and expression workshops which are the result of her own personal experience.
There are many exhibitions and shows organised in France and, very soon, abroad. Likewise, there is a project of moving synthetic images that is about to see the light of day.
