Gedda Sylvie
<%= " " & prenom_artiste & " " & nom_artiste%>
Sylvie Gedda known as the French paintor GEDDA.
Born in 1955, from a mix of Russian and Italian roots (grandparents), she
works and live in France by the Arcachon Bay Area.
Her work relies on a solid education : Bordeaux “Beaux-Arts” school,
Bachelor in Fine Arts from Sorbonne Paris University, Diplomas from both
Paris Academic Institute and Greci Marino Academy in Italy.
“A passion for rhythm and color, Sylvie GEDDA, is a an authentic paintor.
She leads a true pictorial struggle ; her best assets : live and generous
colors laid in full paste on the canvass. Ample sweeping gesture,
expression strength. Sylvie GEDDA involves us in an intensive visual joy,
since the results is beautiful like a stained-glass window crossed by the
sun. Through the balance of her strength axis and the intensity of her
pigments Sylvie GEDDA, artist shows us how to face color.” Michel TORRENTE
Galerie Condillac Bordeaux.
After several years of work on her painting paste (1st personal exhibit in
1981 in Paris) a set-up of polyglass plates among the trees of the David
Park in the city of Andernos, led her to give a more graphical and lyrical
orientation to her work, thus based on transparency and movements.
She found on canvass all the impalpable and the fleetingness from
diaphanous colors disposed in fluid films with mastered movements where
female forms, full and round found their apogee.
So much like the choreograph builds his ballet playing with space, light
and movement, Sylvie GEDDA gets the colors to dance.
Her work has been in numerous exhibits : Grand Palais in Paris, Beaubourg
Centre in Paris ; international exhibits Franco-Greek, Turkish, Finn,
Swiss, Italian, European ; but also in various galleries in France and
West Indies as well as in foreign countries.
She was the guest of Gondomar Auditorio in Porto when the town was the
European Art Capital in 2001.
Her artwork is in both private and public collections – France, West
Indies, Portugal.
