Nadie Feuz
The work of Ferdinand Hodler nourished her ambition
1932: Born in Geneva
1942: Admires her father as he draws, and her mother as she makes hats;
Covers her school notebooks with sketches.
First artistic discovery at the Geneva Museum of Art and History: the paintings of Ferdinand Hodler
1949: Classes at the Beaux Arts Academy in Geneva
1952 to 1959: Fashion design, marriage then the birth of Jean-Marie; design of sets and costumes for the theatre.
1960: Leaves Geneva for Arles: first exhibits in Arles, Aix en Provence, and Lyon
1965: Trained as an engraver at the D¹Halatte Atelier
1966/1970: Design of monumental ceramic panels in Florence and Nice; design of textiles for publishing houses in Paris, and record cover art
1970/1973: Study of movement in gyms and public places
1974: Debut of an internatinal career. A series of exhibits in Japan, Sweden, Los Angeles
During this time, she fought for the creation of art exhibitions and shows.
Since 1980: unbleached canvas has become her uncompromising mistress; one
that pardons no mistakes. Only the perfect line or rational color can make
it come alive as art. Yet Nadie Feuz captures life in all its sweetness, its
force, its sadness, its old age, the beauty of its happiness or unhappiness,
with the human body always predominant.
She only works with models. Proud, human, and incredibly
« alive » at the age of 70 she remains faithful to the big silence that make her raw canvases come alive. »
Her work has been exhibited in Rome, Japan, and Germany, and is found in many private collections. She lives in her artist¹s studio near Paris and dedicates her time to her works,
« Because art must never die! »
