Fréderic Placend
Parisian Frédéric Placend passionately embraced photography from the moment he received his first camera, a bi-Rolleiflex, on his 17th birthday, and has never looked back. Growing up spending summers on the island of Mallorca and winters in Burgundy, his family home, thus began a personal journey that has matured into unique and personaized vignettes. He studied at the Ecole de Photographie of The American Center of Paris from 1987 to 1989.
Refusing to constrain himself within a photographic style of "contemporary" art or "Art nouveau," he keeps his work pure and unemcumbered using a personal graphic approach. His images are placed in a soft light inviting the eye to repose on each one.Represented until recently by prestigious fine art gallery Salon de Thorigny in Paris, his signature images are sought in corporate and design sectors as well as by discriminating private collectors both internationally and in France.
